Well, I’ve found it. Probably late to the party; but the verdict is in! Chartreuse is my new favorite color for Fall! Sometimes, we just need to see colors, have them be around us for a while, before we can really embrace them. That is almost always the way I am with bright colors or high waisted pants. This is why you just never say never with fashion!
NEW CHARTREUSE FAVORITE STYLED MY WAY
Once you introduce something new to your wardrobe, one of the best things you can do is go and see all the different pieces it can be paired with to give you at LEAST three more outfit options than what you had before. So here’s how my new chartreuse sweater fits in with my classic (and slightly edgy) wardrobe. I hope it inspires you to get creative with your pieces too!
WAY #1
For me, this green and this navy plaid were a no brainer. Both are bold; but in non-competitive ways. The chartreuse is bold; but a solid, the plaid is bold because it’s a pattern; but in a complimentary color. I added my skinny reversible belt (black side out) to accentuate a waistline. Since these are high waisted, and our waist is typically the narrowest part of our body, creating a nice line between the top and the pants helps to give a feminine shape.
A statement necklace, a little front tuck, pulling up the sleeves so bracelets and watch can be visible (and also not give the chance to snag on the knit), my neutral bag (no more pattern needed). I say that, and then I went and wore my leopard print heels. HA! What do you think of this? I wondered, since you just see the pointed toe of the shoe, it was a really subtle pattern add. I also paired it with some neutral shoes, I’ll show it here:
WAY #2
You know how I said earlier, never say never in fashion? I’m wearing BOTH high waisted jeans AND a “crop” top! That is as cropped as I’m ever gonna get; BUT, when my arm is down it comes right to the top of my jeans, not showing any skin while walking around. This chartreuse looks awesome with my black coated denim I got at H&M two years ago (and I wouldn’t ever want to be without a pair). They look and read as leather; but are ridiculously comfortable denim. WINNING.
I didn’t change much else from the first look in terms of accessories, so this could maybe be the edgy sister look to the business casual vibe in Way #1?
WAY #3
For this style, I took my faux snake skin skirt, that you’ve seen me style before HERE. I didn’t have to tuck in the sweater because its hem sat right on the waistline of the skirt. Sidenote: sweaters can be bulky when they are tucked, which is why a front tuck may be more ideal, or when they are cropped and fitted like this one, there’s no adjusting or fussing. It’s always in place!
The necklace got switched out for a more trendy V shaped version and the shoes for a casual / dressy vibe. You could add any kind of jacket (denim, moto, short waisted blazer) if you were headed out for the night!
For those who prefer no heel, I’ve also styled it with my fashion sneakers below:
Runners, more casual neutral bag, delicate charm necklace….do whatever you need to do in style girl. There is never a wrong time to get dressed for success.
Happy Outfit Making as you build your #methodmakevoer
