Whether you were headed to church or celebrating the day over brunch with family, everyone loves an opportunity to bring out the pretty dress and heels, and get a little bit shiny for the day. After all, Spring has Sprung and we just can’t help but to throw on a splash of color! This is one of my all time favorites pieces and it’s from All Saints….and I have great news…they are having a Spring SALE!! It’s 30% off In Store or Online and use the Promo Code: SPRING and your discount shows up at Checkout! Here’s the link to the Dresses; but there’s a ton more to shop: All Saints
(I’m also a huge fan of Nanette Lapore…)
My Method when choosing this dress to purchase was:
- I was on a girls trip in Las Vegas and I was shopping with one of my BESTIES. She agreed it was a stunner and I loved her for saying that! I had never been in the All Saints STORE (just shopped the line in other department stores) and I just loved everything.
- It was a bit of a splurge; but it was worth it. Silk is just amazing.
- When looking for your wardrobe pieces, I think it is very important to find the interesting details that set it apart from all the other silk dresses out there. I personally love a dress with NO integrated waistline. I happen to prefer wearing a drop waist, which are hard to find at times, so when the waistline is already in the dress, that is an automatic no for me. This beauty has no waist line at all, yet the gorgeous gathering breaks up the streamlined sides. Fabric is key as well….not all fabrics will move and flow or lay properly when sewn in different directions so this dress in something more structured, even in cotton, would never have the same final effect as it does with silk. It’s an investment to purchase 100% silk pieces; but the lifespan of those items will be exponentially longer than most other fabrics simply because when cared for properly (dry clean only!) they never lose their shape, which means you will always love the way it looks on you. So do that one great piece at a time.
In addition to the super cool variated length at the bottom and side of the dress, it also has interesting sleeves and neckline. So there is a lot to look at, if you wanted to; but really, it’s just a beautiful flowy piece of fashion art, and I light up when I put it on. And while I’m not usually a fan of floral prints, this one feels more like a watercolor to me, so I was drawn to that.
And check it out…there’s those Payless Shoes again (see my previous post for the link)!! I also wear these Steve Madden heels seen here (These or these!) I found that high of a heel and that tiny strap over the toes was more for a mostly sitting occasion ;D VERY sexy, but not my walkin’ shoes, so the fun lace ups were paired with this and I actually really love it! A cutout bootie dresses this down a little bit.
My accessories are from my favorite designer at Stella & Dot. The Drape Necklace was one that came out earlier this year and I went GAGA over it. So darn pretty, all day long, yet I’ve worn it with a dress or knit tank top and jeans….really cool. Then my armparty is a combination of my gold Engraved Cuff, the Artisan Cuff, the Renegade Bracelet, and the Sawyer Stone Bracelet. Search all of those and so many more here: Stella & Dot
Hope you had a very Happy Easter!
