It’s no secret I love Fall, love to layer AND think trenchcoats are a sure fire way to class up an outfit!
LAYER UP – THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT
The last layer you put on in Fall and Winter is your outer wear. Which can be a statement maker all on it’s own! I LOVE the way a hooded sweatshirt looks under a great camel trench. Don’t just save it for special occasions!
While I own and always seem to gravitate to a longer style trench, I went out and found three different styles to share with you. Now I know they are all in neutral tones; BUT I encourage you to find a fabric and pattern that suits you, your wardrobe and most of all, your Method to Style (your personality!!)
WHO WEARS THE LAYER BEST
Well, YOU of course! My tip on shorter trench coats like this one, is that should you fall into the Petite Category then a trench like this will help to show more of your leg, which elongates your look. Extra points for the V-neck, waist belt and finishing with a pointed toe shoe. Yes girl!!
CASUAL CAMEL LAYER
This version is a really great causal option. Looks amazing with any color combo (ANYthing from blush tones to deep burgandy’s and greens to whites). This is basically a blazer only longer, and this one is actually a really light felt material, so can be an amazing layering piece from Fall through Spring. I love it open the best. GREAT for work (keep those suits and skirts clean with a long layer), jeans and blouse, or hoodie, cozy sweats and sneakers!
EFFORTLESSLY CHIC LAYER
Are you the kind of gal who just loves her housecoat? Girl, I’ve got great news for you, check this effortlessly chic option out! It’s basically your housecoat; but totally appropriate to wear out of the house! Come one, that just style GOLD right there, hey?! The longest version I’ve shown, slits up the side to add detail, extra volume on top to accomodate anything you have underneath from a blazer to a sweater. That awesome V neck to elongate the look and the classic belt tie! In fact, if you wanted to customize the look a little, get a thick regular belt in a larger waist size and you’ll instantly add your Method to Style to your outerwear.
Happy shopping in the trenches ladies! Remember to try alot of different styles on, and make sure the one you choose suits your needs and can be a versatile and classic piece in your evolving wardrobe!
