Ladies, if there is one thing I am seeing ALOT of in my trend research for the season, it is JUMPSUITS! Yep, that one piece, easy breezy look that has you out the door in seconds. I’ve had this black one from the Gap for just about a year and love how I can dress it up, or could see myself adding a cropped denim jacket and my Nike Cortez sneakers for a daytime look!
JUMPSUITS
They come in all shapes and sizes, some even can look like a two piece showing a little midriff; but either way, they are a really effective way to show your style. I love them to layer with, or to wear on their own. I don’t normally wear the fabric belt that matches the outfit (they always come with one); but adding a belt that throws your personality into it is always great! I could see this with a thin brightly colored one, a wider sequined one, or a raffia / woven one for a more boho look. I’ll link a few here:
THE ONLY DOWNSIDE
Well, you know there has to be one. That would be when nature calls. Just know, you will have almost completely disrobe to get that job done, sssooooo……
MY JUMPSUIT TIP FOR YOU
Here is one of my personal tips when wearing a jumpsuit or romper…any one piece item really. Don’t wear thong underwear. I’m serious! When you are wearing a one piece item, and you have to lift your arms up or even go from sitting to standing, sometimes….it can ride up, which means it goes straight up your butt! I’m speaking from experience here people, if you wear a full bottom pantie, you will prevent that little mishap! There is no cute way to “pick your seat”; but you sure can’t leave it up there now can you!
I know you are probably thinking, I don’t want pantie lines, so I wear a thong. Well, most jumpsuits are not skin tight. In fact, the current style is very linen like and airy, so they won’t be fitted enough to show the outline if your undies, and always try to choose a nude color, especially if your jumpsuit is light (both in color or fabric). Also avoid textured fabric if you are concerned. Lace will surely be obvious; but you could wear some with a silky fabric so your jumpsuit skims over it and leaves a seamless look on you.
Here’s to jumpsuits and undie talk! Just keepin’ it real for ya ladies!! Happy Spring to you!
