It’s starting to happen more and more frequently….you see the Spring Trends filling up the stores while the Winter Style is on the clearance rack…..it’s a GREAT time to shop since the styles you are getting at up to 70% off  are totally wearable RIGHT NOW and most certainly through the next season. Many of the the treasures you will find are flowy tops, light sweaters, bomber jackets, and of course distressed and ripped up denim. Let’s be honest, that’s year round wear, all you have to do is layer it differently. SCORE!
So if that is enough to excite you, then stop reading and get to your nearest department store! I was recently in The Woodlands Mall and there is MEGA sales going on at both Macy’s and Nordstrom, and also at stores like Academy (need some new workout gear??). It’s going on everywhere….by mid February it will be Winter Blowout Season so get ready to be one savvy shopper and go home with some serious deals.
But what I AM posting about today, is what I noticed while out and about, and that’s the super cute street wear runner. Mostly the slip on like the Classic Van’s; but a little more feminine. Â I’m talking rose gold or metallic grommet embelishments, glitter, perforated leather, and the list goes on. Check out what I found at Nordstrom….for all different price points!!
Not sure you’ll find me rockin’ the velcro; but these brands include everything from Caslon (the maker of my BEST T SHIRT post) to Sam Edelman, and Micheal Kors, all seen in this pic; but you better believe there are some awesome styles from my favorite high end shoe brand, Vince.
Then when you go to lace up, there’s these showstoppers from Tory Burch:
That would look SO CUTE with jeans and a slouchy T, or sweater, or a button up layered with a bomber jacket…and if that’s too sparkly, then why not embrace Ellen Degeneres’ look with one of these:
After seeing all those cute runners at Nordstrom, I snuck over to Macy’s to see what they had, and this was a pretty selection from Micheal Kors, so if you like florals or monograms of the brand name, you might like these:
I have to say, two summers ago I bought me some black, faux snake embossed runners from the brand Halogen (which were a total knock off of the Joie ones I fell in love with but could NOT justify buying).
As you can see they were well worn in this pic and still are. While I love wearing heels, sometimes you just need a easy on runner that gets you in and out of the truck quickly, allows you to pick up the pace in the mall or grocery store when you realize the time, (and NOT look like Bambi trying to run for it), and just be that perfect causal footwear to any outfit from workout gear, to jeans, to shorts. And honestly, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be cute if they fit in your budget! Take care of them and they will last you a couple of summers for sure. These ones pictured above were about $54 and I would say worth every single penny.

ps….while I love the runners….I couldn’t help but notice these…..Toms that I can actually imagine myself wearing!!! I just haven’t been able to pull the trigger on that folded toe shoe! What do you think??? Great with jeans + blazer, or khaki’s and a sweater or tank, look great with leggings and a loose fitting plaid top, or even a day dress! I mean….so cute, right??! THEY ALSO COME IN BLACK!
