Here at Method39, I love to focus on how versatility is sustainability. It allows us to use our wardrobe, often downsized, to it’s fullest, and when we do buy, it’s intentional, and frankly, kick ass. My hope is this blog is giving you inspiration to see your clothes differently and wear them in new ways. Knowledge is power and what I know for sure, women LOVE to learn how to look and feel their BEST, in body, heart and mind.
VERSATILITY
This is so key in creating a wardrobe that works OVERTIME for you. When you have pieces you love, can be mixed and matched together in cool ways, and make you feel great about your look, that is the most satisfying. When you can walk into your closet and know that those pieces hanging fit and flatter you, compliment each other and you, it makes getting dressed easy peasy…not something to dread.
If you like to see examples of how I shop my closet to give you inspiration on how to shop yours, check HERE, HERE and HERE,or go to almost any of my posts!
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is a major buzz word right now. It means making sure you are avoiding the depletion of natural resources to maintain ecological balance. When it comes to fashion, the waste, pollution from ink, factories and synthetics is a HUGE factor here. So buying the RIGHT things is key. If you love to find one offs, and thrive on originality in your style, consignment shopping is an amazing way to mitigate your fashion footprint.
At the same time, sustainability means being able to maintain at a certain level or pace. Versatility is sustainability in the sense that what you add to your closet for your Method to Style, is long term and sustainable. Not that it should last forever. I’m the FIRST person to embrace that our style evolves. That said, there can be pieces that can crossover to new phases of life. You don’t get rid of your entire wardrobe when you sense your Method to Style changing. A sustainable wardrobe means when you do change, some of those pieces you love, can be worn in new ways. Not one you are constantly adding to, is high priced or brand specific.
I KNOW you can look upscale and polished without designer brands. Sprinkle those in; but don’t be fooled that you won’t look stylish or successful if you don’t have them. Quality pieces can be found at every price point.
METHOD TO STYLE
This is a term I coined, almost at the creation of Method39. It’s three words that describe your personal style TODAY. “Method” is the way you do something, the process of….whatever it’s related to. On this blog, it’s about your style. The technical side. How you create looks, with your wardrobe that you love. To arm you with the knowledge and power to be able to make GREAT decisions for when you shop; but also use what you already own, so you stretch your style dollars and make tiny changes immediately. Action items are ALWAYS the way to go when helping my audience get the most value possible, as a result of them taking the time to read my content on this blog and social media.
I want to help you find extreme versatility in your wardrobe, and a style you can sustain without breaking the budget. Sound good? Awesome! I’m so glad you are here, and I want to encourage you to go back into my Blog Category called Style Tips – The What / Why / How, read a few of those posts, and start to take action on our wardrobe today. Better yet, subscribe to the blog, and you’ll never miss a post.
Till next time,
