Zara Basic Collection – Plaid Dress

Loving this Zara Basic Collection plaid dress found while browsing their website recently. I often forget about this brand when there isn’t a store nearby; but there is always a gem in there (wait til you see my Little Black Dress for the holiday season). This Plaid dress may be from the Zara Basic Collection; but there is very little basic about it.  Shopping links provided at the end of this post!

Sidenote: When I find a dress I like, my first thought is, “How many other pieces in my closet can work with this?” It makes shopping feel more like completing a puzzle or building something bigger. Not just getting a thing. I think that matters.

 

Plaid and Pumpkin Spice

I had the great pleasure of working with one of my favorite people, Brooke Holmes with b.marie photography, while showing off this pretty plaid number. These evergreen suede pointed-toe heels give it a more classic look, perfect for many different occasions…today included coming to The Westin The Woodlands for a little Fall inspiration and a some Starbucks.

 

Just Add Booties

One of the things I love about this Zara Basic Collection plaid dress is the cut is very feminine with a flowy fabric and the plaid is subtle and obvious all at the same time. Can you see the pink line in there? You could totally throw on some pink heels to make a statement! It’s a little longer in the back, which I love (and if you know me, you know that!), and it’s nowhere near fitted. You can be the most comfortable you’ve ever been, while looking dressed up, on trend and ladylike.

I also paired it with this seasons big trend of pointed toe ankle booties. (would also look great with tights!)  These ones are from Zara as well and are kitten heel height so, really wearable for anyone. See how the shiny black leather adds more dimension and material element? Finish it off with a statement necklace that stands out; but doesn’t take over the look.
